With this project I wanted to create a language learning game that better reflects how people actually learn. Toki Pona Island is a platformer with quests and branching dialog that focuses on comprehensible input and grammar. It's made in Unity and embodies many core game design principles. Steam page link
In order to give insight into the life of the late James Castle, I led a small team in creating both VR and AR recreations of his former living spaces for the James Castle House. The VR app lets you interact with and experience a faithful recreation his workshop home. While the AR app scans a plaque and shows the artists trailer in its original space where the viewer can explore it from any angle.
Tasked with creating technology that aids autistic children, I led a small team to create a functioning prototype in just a week. The app scans the face using the iPhone's native software and compares it to an AI trained model of emotional expressions to display emotion labels in real time. The design helps autistic children better recognize social cues.
To better understand game economies, I created an incremental game about golems that gather resources. I used a combination of calculus and user feedback to tweak the balance of resource gathering systems for maximum engagement. App store link
